Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during an initial evaluation?

I gather background information and health history to make the most informed judgment. I observe your child, use questionnaires, assess oral motor function, and establish a baseline to develop personalized therapy goals. An initial evaluation will last about an hour with additional time for questions.

How long are sessions, and how often will my child need therapy?

Therapy sessions range from 30 to 45 minutes, with time at the end for parent questions and planning future sessions. The frequency of therapy depends on your child's needs, which we discuss after the evaluation.

Do you provide in-home therapy?

Yes! I will travel to your home within 20minutes of Westfield, NJ. If you live further away, please reach out and we can go over other options/accommodations.

Do you provide teletherapy?

Yes, especially for feeding therapy. Teletherapy is highly effective for providing parent coaching and support around mealtimes. I offer a "starting solids" mentorship program with parents. This includes meal ideas, serving sizes, personalized schedules, and video calls during those early meals. Reach out to find out more information and see if that is something that can benefit you and your little one!

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out of network provider. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You can always check with you provider for their reimbursement rates. I will provide you with the CPT codes necessary for that.

What are your private rates?

Rates vary depending on length of treatment and your child's individual needs. Please reach out for more information about rates.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is due at the end of each session. I accept cash or check, Venmo, or Zelle.

How do you help with tongue ties and pre/post frenectomy care?

I perform a functional assessment to determine the presence and severity of function, secondary to oral ties. I will provide recommendations to necessary professionals (e.g. bodyworkers, lactation consultants, pediatric dentists, etc.).  If a family decides that a frenectomy is right for them, I provide hands on support with pre and post care. If you have further questions regarding oral ties, please call and I would be happy to explain further.

What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Of course, things happen, but please provide at least 12 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
